The all new Friedman Runt 20 watt Head – IN STOCK NOW!
The Friedman Runt 20 watt Head is an EL84, 2-channel fire breather designed after the Friedman BE-100 Brown Eye. The Runt’s power uses a pair of EL-84’s and a trio of 12AX7’s in the preamp section.
It has a dedicated, American inspired clean channel with a 3-position bright switch that delivers anything from pristine cleans to a slightly broken-up blues/country tone. There is a gain boost on the overdrive channel for a ferocious blistering growl while soloing and is footswitchable!
The heart and soul of the Friedman Runt 20 watt Head is the overdrive channel, which gives that legendary Friedman overdrive that ranges from vintage rock crunch to modern high gain tones. Use the Boost switch and Gain knob to dial in the perfect amount of overdrive. A global presence control shapes the high-frequency response of the Runt’s power section.
The Runt delivers the tight bottom end and midrange that is typically only found in much higher-wattage amps by utilizing custom transformers and the cleanest signal path possible. The Runt-20 is ideal for many styles of music from blues to classic rock and heavy metal by merely adjusting the gain and master controls.
Like all of Friedman’s offerings, the Runt has a ultra – transparent buffered Series FX Loop and loves pedals. Front end preamp effects such as overdrives, wahs, phasers, boosts, ect… sound great & the transparent, buffered Series FX Loop handles your time based effects (delay, reverb, chorus, ect…) beautifully with no tone loss or degradation.
Very excited about the first Cab Sim Record Out Dave Friedman has ever made. Dave invested a lot of time perfecting this part of the amp to ensure it faithfully replicates what is coming from the amp itself and is very usable. With an XLR out, you can confidently run direct to FOH with outstanding results. The Cab Sim Record XLR out includes a ground-lift switch, level and center/edge of speaker cone simulation switches.
The new totally affordable Runt family of Friedman amplifiers are built right here in the USA by hand using printed circuit boards keeping the price tag low enough for all guitar playing mortals to afford one of these sonic beauties!
