New for 2017 from the folks at Gibson Memphis is this gorgeous Limited Run Gibson ES-335 1970s Walnut semi-solid guitar featuring a unique nitrocellulose 1970’s Walnut stain finish, providing a vintage inspired instrument that has all of the modern features, functionality and versatility of today’s ES-335!
The Gibson ES-335 1970s Walnut keeps the traditional materials & construction that made this iconic flagship guitar so popular.
Starting with the traditional proven combination of 3-Ply Maple/Poplar/Maple top, back & sides with a maple center block and a mahogany neck with rosewood fret board, you have a foundation that sounds amazing & feels great!
The neck profile is a rounded “C” shape carve with rolled binding and a dark Rosewood fingerboard with small pearloid block inlays for a super comfortable feel, easy action & classic tone.
The ’57 Classic pickups are based on Gibson’s original PAF’s which pair perfectly with the tone woods delivering rich, full sound with a balanced warm tones and enhanced highs. Wax potted to suppress feedback and matched bobbin windings for classic humbucker tone.
This Gibson ES-335 1970s Walnut has the “Memphis Tone” circuit which retains the higher frequencies regardless of the volume control. This feature insures your sound & signal will not be lost in the mix as all the top-end sparkle is retained.
Other notable features are an nickel plated ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles, die cast zinc tailpiece with locking studs, Kluson replica bolt-bushing tuners with improved 15:1 ratio & “Witch Hat” knobs.
